Protecting your order information is a priority for JPT. That's why we utilize SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to ensure safe and secure payment transactions made in our online shop. With SSL, information sent via the Internet is encrypted, and can be trusted to arrive privately and unaltered. We believe this element provides the most effective way to ensure that your order information is protected while offering a very secure shopping environment.
What is SSL?
Without SSL data in the internet is sent in plain text which leaves you vulnerable to eavesdropping. If this data is intercepted by somebody it can be seen and used. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a standard security technology creating an encrypted connection between a website and a browser and allowing sensitive information to be transmitted securely. Your browser will show a visual cue, such as a lock icon or a green bar, when the connection is secure.
How does it work?
When a browser accesses an SSL secured website, the browser and the web server will communicate with an SSL Handshake. During the SSL Handshake the website and the browser will create a symmetric session key using their own keys. This means, three keys are used to set up the encrypted connection: the public key, private key, and session key.
