What is a peptide?
A peptide is a molecule of amino acids (aa) linked via a peptide bond. In biology, peptides and proteins (from approx. 51 aa) are distinguished by amino acid length. Peptides and proteins occur in biology in many forms such as dipeptides, cyclic peptides or phosphopeptides, and can be analysed by sequencing, quantification, NMR and many other methods.
