Peptide ELISA

What is Peptide ELISA?

ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) is a widely used laboratory technique for the detection and quantification of substances such as proteins, peptides, antibodies, and hormones. It works by using an enzyme-linked antibody or antigen that produces a measurable color change when it binds to the target substance. The intensity of the color change correlates with the amount of the substance present, allowing researchers to determine its concentration in a sample. ELISA is widely used in medical diagnostics, research, and the detection of infectious diseases.

Peptide ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) provides much more information than conventional protein ELISA because it allows analysis and screening at the amino acid sequence level. This is important for mapping epitopes or defining protein interaction sites.

Applications of Peptide ELISA

  • Antibody epitope mapping
  • Immune profiling
  • Determination of antibody titers
  • Analysis of protein-protein interactions
  • Analysis of enzymatic reactions
  • Validation of microarray results
