Omicron BA.5 is now the dominant SARS-CoV-2 variant all over the world. While this sub variant may be more capable of evading natural and vaccine-induced immunity, BA.5 symptoms appear to be similar to those caused by earlier versions of Omicron. The lineages BA.4 und BA.5 show identical mutations in the spike glycoprotein and only some differences in other antigens.
Therefore, we announce the addition of
