Fine-tune T cell Activation with our unique PepMix™ Formats!
Published on 16/01/2025
With a portfolio of over 500 products, JPT’s PepMix™ Peptide Pool Catalog remains the largest on the market. We offer a wide variety of peptide pools tailored for immune monitoring, cellular immune response profiling, or T cell epitope identification, providing unparalleled resources for cutting-edge research in immunotherapy and vaccine development, immune monitoring and gene therapy.
So why do we offer all these different peptide pool formats? This week we highlight our PepMix™ peptide pool formats, to explain them and showcase their benefits to help you make the right choice.
Our overlapping PepMix™ Peptide Pool - The Gold Standard:
Developed and validated by JPT & Charité, Berlin, our standard PepMix™ is defined as a peptide pool consisting of 15mer peptides with an 11mer overlap. This length has been shown to allow sufficient peptide accommodation into the specific MHC complex I and II binding groove conformations. Our PepMixes™ are quality controlled at the individual peptide level and again as a complete pool.
JPT offers a wide variety of different peptide pool formats that are optimized for various applications.
- Antigen-specific T cell stimulation in T cell assays (e.g. in ELISpot, cytokine staining, cell-mediated cytotoxicity or proliferation assays)
- In vitro T cell expansion
- Dendritic cell pulsing
- Immune monitoring
- Cellular immune response profiling
- T cell epitope identification
- Standardization of T cell assays

PepMix™ Collections:
All major protein-spanning PepMixes™ for an organism or cancer type are combined into large convenient collection sets. This allows you to study immune responses to many antigens in parallel. Examples include different viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 variants, EBV, HPV, or HCMV., as well as human antigens from different cancer types, such as melanoma, breast cancer or prostate cancer.

PepMix™ Pan Select:
In contrast to our previously mentioned PepMix™ collections, our PepMix™ Pan Selects are peptide pools that cover only hand-selected immune dominant epitopes from various antigens of a pathogen. This way, we provide the ability to efficiently cover efficiently multiple large antigens from a virus while still eliciting a strong immune response from your sample.

PepMix™ Ultra Pools:
Some viruses and cancers have a very high mutation frequency, and therefore come in many sequence variations (e.g. HIV, Influenza etc.). To cover all or many of these sequence variants, we have developed our ULTRA algorithm. PepMix™ ULTRA pools cover sequence diversity within a virus or cancer type using the minimum number of peptides, while maintaining a reliable immune response readout.

Epitope Mapping Peptide Sets (EMPS):
These sets contain matrix pools plus individual peptides for a specific protein to provide a rapid and resource-efficient way to identify, pinpoint and confirm epitopes within a protein. Each set includes both matrix pools that cover the entire protein and individual peptides for validation and confirmation, ensuring a streamlined and effective process.
Custom Options:
And if you need a different purity, quantity, or antigen, we can provide you with your custom PepMix™ Peptide Pool. Each PepMix™ is quality controlled both at the individual peptide level and as a complete pool. Do you require a fast and cost effective alternative?
Take a look at our SpotMix Antigen Discovery Pools for antigen target discovery, T cell epitope discovery, and biological screening. Based on our proprietary high-throughput SPOT technology, we synthesize in small quantities, fully automated, and purify via dialysis. SpotMix PLUS Pools come with additional features that make them useful in neo-epitope-based immune monitoring.
