BioTides: Simplifying Peptide Immobilization for High-Throughput Screening!

BioTides are JPT's biotinylated peptides, specifically designed for applications requiring immobilization on streptavidin-coated surfaces such as beads, membranes, glass slides, and microtiter plates. 

Manufactured using JPT's proprietary and cost-effective SPOT synthesis technology, each BioTide features an N-terminal biotin linked to the peptide through a flexible hydrophilic spacer. This design improves peptide accessibility after immobilization, helping to maximize target binding and assay performance. In addition, the synthesis strategy enables automatic removal of truncation sequences during immobilization, resulting in screening-quality peptides with performance comparable to purified peptides for many applications. 

BioTides can also be customized with non-natural amino acids or post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and methylation, making them suitable for specialized assay development.

Applications: 

BioTides are well suited for a wide range of biomedical screening assays, including: 

  • Peptide ELISA for epitope and protein-protein interaction mapping 
  • High-throughput kinase, phosphatase, acetyltransferase, and histone deacetylase substrate screening using platforms such as AlphaScreen®, FlashPlates®, and SPA beads 
  • Affinity capture and precipitation of interacting proteins 
  • Peptide microarray production 
  • Affinity chromatography applications
