Antibody Profiling

What is Antibody Profiling?

Antibody profiling is a technique to characterize and map out an antibody’s properties and function. Key components of profiling is to evaluate which antigens they bind to, their binding affinity, antibody isotypes and subclasses, identifying epitopes or the respective antigens, asses the neutralizing ability to harmful substances or measure cross-reactivity.

Common Antibody Profiling Methods

  • Peptide Microarray Incubation: enables high-throughput screening of antibody binding to peptide
  • Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA): detects and quantifies antibodies and their antigen interactions
  • Flow cytometry: analyzes antibody binding to specific cells
  • Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR):  measures real-time interactions between antibodies and antigens
  • Western blotting:  detects antibody-antigen binding using protein separation techniques
  • Mass spectrometry:  provides detailed information about antibody structure and binding partners

Applications

Antibody profiling is a useful tool for a variety of applications, such as
  • Therapeutic Antibodies: Profiling is essential in developing monoclonal antibodies for treating diseases like cancer and autoimmune disorders.
  • Vaccine Development: Helps in identifying the best antibodies for inducing immunity against pathogens.
  • Disease Diagnosis: Profiling antibodies allows for the development of diagnostic tools to detect infectious agents or autoimmune conditions.
  • Biomarker Discovery: Antibody profiling helps identify new biomarkers for diseases and conditions.

Our Antibody Profiling Capabilities

We offer different assay services for antibody response profiling, biomarker discovery and serological test development. The platforms are compatible with antibodies, sera, whole blood and other biological fluids that contain antibodies and are based on our high-content and multiwell peptide microarrays and Peptide ELISA. Applicable for high throughput antibody response profiling, epitope mapping and characterization, antigen profiling, immune monitoring, validation of results, and more.
