PRESS RELEASEJerini AG LISTED BY TORNADO INSIDER AS ONE OF EUROPE'S TOP 100 START-UPS BERLIN, Germany (August 26, 2002) - Jerini AG was recently named in the second annual 'Tornado Insider 100' list as one of Europe's top most promising and innovative emerging private tech companies. Jerini, headquartered in Berlin, was founded in 1994 by Prof. Jens Schneider-Mergener and specializes in peptide-originated drug discovery and development. "We are very pleased that our drug discovery strategy "From Peptides to Drugs" has been recognized by Tornado Insider," said Prof. Schneider-Mergener, CEO of Jerini AG. The list, which is detailed in the summer issue of Tornado Insider magazine and on their website (www.tornado-insider.com) due in July, profiles Jerini and the other 99 most promising and innovative emerging companies in the European IT and biotech sectors. The selection of Jerini and the rest of the top 100 was narrowed from thousands of candidates and judged by the following criteria: The companies selected had to also meet the requirement of selling products that match their marketing promises as well as exhibit an ability of utilizing their funding in the most effective manner.
